Maša Haľamová in the Dar – Červený mak – Smrť tvoju žijem Triad
Der Monographie untersucht das Leben und Werk der slowakischen Dichterin Maša Haľamová (1908-1995), basierend auf persönlichen Dokumenten und Materialien aus der Slowakischen Nationalbibliothek in Martin. Die Methodik umfasst eine biografische Analyse, die sich auf entscheidende Wendepunkte und Schlüsselmomente in Haľamovás Leben konzentriert, die ihre poetische Erzählung geprägt haben. Die Autorinnen rekonstruieren Haľamovás persönliche Geschichte und beleuchten die literarische Kritik, die über 70 Jahre hinweg ihre Werke begleitet hat. Zudem werden authentische Manuskriptnotizen der Autorin analysiert, die Einblicke in ihre poetische Inspiration geben. Ein weiterer zentraler Bestandteil der Forschung ist die Analyse und (Re-)Interpretation von drei ihrer Gedichtbände: „Dar“ (1928), „Červený mak“ (1932) und „Smrť tvoju žijem“ (1966). Hierbei wird ein differenziertes Verständnis von Spiritualität und der metaempirischen Dimension der Realität herausgearbeitet. Im Rahmen der semiotischen Poetik werden die expressiven Qualitäten der Versstruktur untersucht, wobei nicht nur der metrische Versplan, sondern auch phonetische Mittel, die den Gesamt-Rhythmus der Gedichte prägen, betrachtet werden. Abschließend ziehen die Autorinnen die Schlussfolgerung, dass Haľamovás Werk durch eine komplexe Verbindung von persönlicher Erfahrung und literarischer Innovation gekennzeichnet ist, die sowohl die individuelle als auch die kollektive Identität der slowakischen Literatur widerspiegelt.
The monograph examines the life and work of the Slovak poet Maša Haľamová (1908-1995), based on personal documents and materials from the Slovak National Library in Martin. The methodology includes a biographical analysis focussing on decisive turning points and key moments in Haľamová's life that shaped her poetic narrative. The authors reconstruct Haľamová's personal history and shed light on the literary criticism that has accompanied her works over 70 years. They also analyse authentic manuscript notes by the author, which provide insights into her poetic inspiration. Another central component of the research is the analysis and (re)interpretation of three of her volumes of poetry: ‘Dar’ (1928), ‘Červený mak’ (1932) and ‘Smrť tvoju žijem’ (1966). Here, a differentiated understanding of spirituality and the meta-empirical dimension of reality is developed. Within the framework of semiotic poetics, the expressive qualities of the verse structure are examined, whereby not only the metrical verse plan, but also phonetic devices that characterise the overall rhythm of the poems are considered. Finally, the authors conclude that Haľamová's work is characterised by a complex combination of personal experience and literary innovation, reflecting both the individual and collective identity of Slovak literature.
