SlavDok - about us
The subject repository SlavDok is the central publication platform of the Spezialised Information Service for Slavonic Studies (FID Slawistik) established by the German Research Foundation at the Berlin State Library - the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation.
Open Access
SlavDok offers all members of Slavic research institutions services for the free public presentation of quality-assured first and second publications from all areas of Slavic research in Open Access. Not least because of its proven positive effects on international visibility, reception and citation frequency, numerous universities and research institutions as well as renowned scientific and funding organisations recommend Open Access as the publication strategy of the future. In addition to university Open Access resolutions - including those of the League of European Research Universities - and the Open Access mandates of research funding organisations, the Digital Information Priority Initiative, under whose umbrella the Alliance of German Science Organisations bundles its activities to increase acceptance and establish the Open Access paradigm, is particularly worthy of mention in this context.
In accordance with the Open Access policy of the German Research Foundation, the Berlin State Library, the Global Research Council and the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, SlavDok sees itself as a contribution to the promotion of open access to scientific knowledge.
